Part 1 series: 125 x 125 Flower images

I absolutely love looking at flowers in the garden or in pictures…and ofcourse, I love having fresh flowers in the house. The new 125 x 125 pixel images will be dedicated to showcase the best from the many floral photographs we have taken so far from a variety of places.

There were so many flower images to choose from, as a result I will publish these images in a two part series. This first part, will display floral and bulb images that were taken at the Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens. This vast and beautiful botanic garden is located in an altitude of over 1000 metres in the upper Blue Mountains in New South Wales (Sydney) Australia. It was opened to the public in 1987 to house over 5000 species of plants from the cooler parts of the world.

The day we visited the Mount Tomah Botanic Gardens it was filled with sunshine. Although the garden is already splendid, the sunshine that basked over it really brought out it’s beauty every angle that you looked at. There is also a nice restaurant that is located within the garden. With the amount of walking that you end up doing, it’s great that you can have a little rest, grab a coffee or a wonderful meal while at the same time being able to admire the expansive and stunning views of the gardens from the restaurant window. It’s certainly worth a visit if you are ever in Sydney.

I’ll let you judge the beauty of the floral images by having a look at some of the new 125 x 125 images below.

Now be warned, as much as I love flowers, I’m certainly not an expert on their names - so advance apologies!

May these flower images inspire you to create a new logo or personalize a new 125 card…Happy flower day!

They are nice. I love the protea, they happen to be South Africa’s national flower. Our cricket team are also known as the Proteas.

    Hey sailor,

I wasn’t fully aware that the Protea was South Africa’s national flower - thanks for letting me know, as I try to learn something new each day. I certainly won’t forget this vital information.

On this day, we were lucky enough to capture the Protea with sunshine basking over it as it really enhanced it’s beauty. I hope we did justice to your national flower :)

    Cheers,
    Marie

I love flowers too, but have a problem with remembering the flowers names. Now I know that one of the flowers that I liked is “Protea”::))

@Helen - I’m just like you Helen, I am not very good with flower names. Happy to hear that you have found the name of the flower that you like, it certainly helps so you can now explain it better to anyone who listens :)

Mother Nature smiles on us when the flowers bloom! Such beauty in a tiny package!

The one at the top is a kniphofia, or commonly known here as red hot poker, a fairly common garden plant here in the UK. I also know protea, because we have the proteas here at the moment hammering us in cricket! Thanks for the reminder sailor :)

Beautiful! You are very creative with these 125×125s… I will be checking back, I keep wanting better ones of my dogs. Maybe you need a pet tutorial. :)

@kml - When flowers bloom especially in spring, it does feel like Mother Nature is smiling down on us :)

@A Changing Life - Thanks for helping me out with this flower’s name, I am really hopeless with them! I think I’ll remember the name “red hot poker” more easily than “kniphofia” though! And yes, let’s not discuss the cricket, lol…

@Cynthia Blue - Once I get enough pictures I will be doing a series of 125 x 125 pixel animal images and I will have dog pictures included in this, so stay tuned…thanks for checking out our cards :)
